On this tour, guests will spend the day exploring Portugal's Douro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of Port wine since the 17th century. Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, this is the perfect region for wine tastings at beautiful terraced vineyards, and soaking in the dramatic scenery carved by the meandering Douro River. In the morning, guests will be picked up from their hotel in a 4X4 vehicle and transported to the starting point of the tour. Along the way, they can admire Porto’s medieval architecture, stopping by the many miradouros or look out points to take in the lovely city and the river running through it. At Douro Valley, they will enjoy a picnic lunch made of traditional fish and meat, washed down with crisp local wines. Afterward, it's time to tour the terraced vineyards dotting the region, sampling celebrated ports and wines, and learning about their production process at handpicked wineries. In the afternoon, having had their fill, guests will leave behind these rolling hills and return to Porto.
