Day 2: Chongqing Day & Night: Iconic Sights, Local Flavors & City LightsBegin the tour with a visit to Liziba Station, a remarkable feat of engineering. The metro here seems to defy gravity - running through a mountain, immediately passing under a river, and even cutting through a residential building, where the 6th floor serves as the station hall, the 7th floor houses equipment, and the 8th floor is the platform.
Continue to the Hongyaadong complex, famous for its dramatic cliffside stilt houses (diaojiaolou), a traditional architectural style inspired by ancient Ba culture and long used along the Yangtze and Jialing rivers. The lively area is filled with local food stalls, shops, and teahouses showcasing Chongqing’s distinctive flavors and crafts. After dark, its illuminated terraces create one of the city’s most iconic and photogenic sights.
Then visit the Three Gorges Museum, the largest monographic museum in China.
